Ran across this purdy trigger in a thread made in 2011. Anyone know where it came from?

Can't help you out with its origin, but I will agree with you...that is a sweet looking trigger! :-*

Before I knew of Davio I scored one from NZ. Am waiting on delivery of a gun I bought where it'll be used.

Another gun that'll be delivered at the same time already has a Davio trigger in it- at least that's what my research has led me to believe. The speculation at the time the gun w/this trigger was first shown on this forum was that the trigger was a Cothran. But the previous owner of the gun (Quickster47, RIP) flatly denied it, only saying that "it looks like Don's work but the individual I bought it from won't disclose his source."

I'll let you all decide.

This is Davio's (needfulthings-2018 on eBay) trigger:

The attached photos are of the trigger Carl used that I've been thinking was Davio's work.

I my opinion the Grant Stace trigger is the best, if you can get one...
ALSO, his other offerings are awesome.   ** just saying **   :)

I might have found the maker of the trigger in question- Mellon. Forum member/mod 1377x had posted a photo of some Mellon parts (note date stamp) and the trigger he shows looks a lot like the one I asked about.

Mellon trigger as posted by 1377x:

Original trigger I asked about:

I imagine Ed bonded the brass onto the std brass trigger I seem to remember him doing it with a tko one as well
wonder how Ed is not heard from him for a long time

Which 'Ed'?

I agree- you can see solder joint on the one.

ETA- Or JB Weld if the shoe is fitted to a new production trigger.

ped you are correct it was made by mellon and yes he soldered brass on brass. the tko I modified was done with jbweld it was like a timex took a lickin and kept on tickin. I mixed brass with aluminum and stainless with aluminum.

I think I still have  some brass triggers and a couple original brass 1377 valves around. When I'm feeling  up to the task I'll look around see what I have

I have a copy of this trigger on my 2240.
It works along with a high buff and polish on the sear and hammer with a light spring and trigger stop.
