CO2 puncture off-center

I own several air rifles and pistols. Almost always, the CO2 cartridges are punctured cleanly with a centered circular hole -- except for my Crosman 2240 pistol. The puncture from the 2240 is small, off-center and not round. The pistol seems to fire okay -- I don't have a chronograph -- but I'm curious if the described puncture affects performance (velocity? accuracy?) or is it a defect in the pistol?

Thanks for your help.

The position of the puncture certainly isn't a concern.  The size of the puncture might be an issue, if it small enough to restrict gas flow, but that doesn't seem to be an problem with your pistol.  I'd just put it down to an idiosyncrasy of your pistol and keep shooting!   :-*
