What set off an alert to the authorities to hold and test the LDs? Did Tim reduce the power before shipping them out?
Larry I think it was a chance thing.
The parcel prior with the DAQ contained a Mac1 LD with a 16" barrel and buddy bottle but the body still said Mark 1 Target pistol. Because I had the SEs engraved they just did nor recognize them as standard guns. I hope Tim made them as ordered because if not aside from the potential consequences to me will lose be a bag of money. Which in fairness if they are over 6ft I will probably not need the money for a short while.
Tim sent me the correct springs for the LDs separately and I can use them in standard Mark pistols with safety, so really with a standard spring the SEs should be in the 5-6ft lb territory (hopefully) or as Tim put it eloquently on the phone as mouse fart power.
The danger is that our forensic firearms people can at times be a bit too enthusiastic and will keep swapping pellets out till they get the guns over power.
#Brian - With the efforts I make to get some of these unique and rare parts/guns I have to accept there will be some risk attached and at times I will cock up in what I buy, it adds to the fun I suppose. It would be boring if it was easy all the time. Some parts have taken several months and oodles of money, emails and negotiating to obtain.
I saw what you glorious leader was saying on the TV, personally I can't see him getting anywhere with that, looks to be saying what he thinks the worldwide public want to hear, just the same as our politicians do, whichever way it goes (fingers crossed for you) you will still have quite some way to go before you get to UK legislation standards. Over here in a lot of quarters owning a feeble powered airgun seems akin to being a mad axe murdering maniac !!
