Okay guys . I have been reading and I came across the bnm shroud and was wondering if it was any better than the TKO . I had every plan to order the TKO day but then found out about the bnm . so let's not even talk about price , just witch one would do a better job . any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.
Does one need the bnm breech for the ir shroud to fit?
I have both and I'd have to give the edge to the shroud but only by the smallest amount.
If you make your own breech riser to accommodate the extra height of the shroud you might make the price close to comparable. If you need to buy a riser and barrel band (or one of their repeating breeches) then the cost of the TKO makes it more attractive.
I'm really surprised at the effectiveness of the TKO units for their size and ease of use.

You can use them with a regular breech but you need to make a riser to allow the barrel to be centered in the shroud and you need to extend the cocking pin on the hammer so the bolt will catch it to cock. If you have a longer shroud you may want a barrel band which would be tricky to make from scratch but you can buy the barrel bands and riser blocks from Sergio.
I think the shroud kit comes with a centering bushing, baffles, and a breech mount assembly (but don't hold me to that).

The is do you want the BNM shroud and breech or just want to make backyard friendly!! I have both and both work great. It just comes down to where you want to spend the money. :) :)

All I really am trying to to is become backyard friendly . I thought if there was a big difference on noise levels I would spend the extra cash . but if they are that close then I think I will go for the metal breech and a TKO . that's leaves money on the table for other mods .
O and by the way my 2240 came today ! I can't wait to go in box it and check is sweet little thing out . first mod will be adding my 10 inches barrel .

Okay I pull the trigger on the TKO .
Now for the metal breech . steel or aluminium and I really like the look of the longer breeches .
Either one would be nice.
Aluminum it is !
So here I go on a mother hobby spending spree . never could build one like this as a kid . nice to be all grown up .
Any other ideas on power mods would be helpful as well . who to buy from , what parts are better than others ? I never imagined there would be so many choices for these super cool guns . wow

Just installed a 5 inch TKO on my 1322. One word, AWESOME!!
I put a TKO on my Maximus and it's very quiet, I can imagine one on my 1740 would make it silent as it's quiet without anything...
Most people shoot 40 yards or below, about 15 yards should be a reasonable zero with a little hold over or under in that range assuming you don't have super high rings.
