Title: Wrong oil used?
Post by: Tater on November 18, 2012, 08:26:03 PM
I was finally to the stage of putting my 1377 after switching barrels...I got in a hurry to put it back together and I accidentally put Rem Oil on the transfer port seal and bolt seal instead of Pelgunoil. Will this cause damage or am I alright?

Rem oil not good for airgun seals.
Either clean them off, if not too late, or replace them.

Thanks cmj. They were only in for about 15 minutes so I just took them out to clean them. What is safe to use to clean of the Remoil? I'm just wiping them initially.

Thanks Ed, I'm on it. Having trouble getting the bolt seal out though. I don't want to tear it.

I use a blunt tipped needle to pry off o-rings or you could get an oil ring pick set.

Thanks guys. It's all put back together so it's time for testing.  :-*
I'll post pics tonight or tomorrow.
