Title: Finally picked up a chrony

Not the greatest quality but it works. With RWS Hypermax pellets, it shoots between 620 and 630 fps. Lead shot seems to average 545 at 10 pumps. I'm satisfied.

You forgot to mention which gun you were testing.  :)
