Title: 2250xt chrony numbers about right?
Post by: gipper51 on February 19, 2011, 11:45:48 PM
Hi all,

I got some chrony numbers this weekend after doing some mods to my 2250xt.  My pops got me an 18" barrel and a flow through bolt for my b-day.  Guess I gotta get him something good for his next week  :-*  It definately gained some FPS but I have no idea if this is where it should be...not much info on CO2.  Here's the gun mods:

-B&A adapter for 9oz. CO2 bottle
-Stock valve with mods: lighter spring, threads cutoff cap, eased and polished exhaust port (first valve job I've ever done).
-18" barrel from MellonAir
-Flow through bolt from MellonAir

I shot 5 through the chrony with 14.3gr Crosman Premiers
583, 583, 587, 585, 586

Bone stock the gun was shooting 525-530fps, does 60+/- FPS sound about right?

Thanks,
Aaron

I think for the mods you've done thus far your approximate FPS gain of 60 is quite good.  You should be pleased with what you've done so far.  Good job.  :-* :-* :-*

Thanks Carl.  I have a new leak... thread in the tech section.  Get this fixed and maybe she will see the magic 600 number :)

reads about right. just done some testing on mine which has the Hollow extended probe, power spring and polished hammer, transfer port and breech.

using the same pellet as you but quite cold where i'm testing, getting these figures;

568,572,571,571,569,565,577,565,576,555,507

The shot variation is where i did not leave it 5 mins so the powerlet got back to room temp and the last shot is when the power starts to fail.

Roll on summer :(
