Title: just got word
Post by: 1377x on September 18, 2012, 09:40:53 PM
that my 2300 bottle baby tube will be coming home soon, hopefully i'll get it by monday at the latest
then the build starts
im going to make it a .25
looking into getting a marauder .25 barrel fitted into the steel breech.if that doesnt work out then i guess mountain air is going to get a call for one of their .25 set ups
more about the project will be in the tech section once i get the pieces together
WHOO HOO!

i know im going to want to put it together right away but the tube needs refinishing i have (2) 2300 tubes and sent the wrong one in.it has some funny laser etching ,some crazy saying,on it i'll sand it down and use black primer for now and seal it with eezox.hopefully that will work i hate super glossy paint.the other tube doesnt have any laser etched name on it.im going to either sell it or use it for a future build

cant wait to show it off ;)
looking for a tank now.until i get one ill use an air source co2 88g cart.its getting cold so i need to start looking
bad news on the .25 marauder barrel none in stock but ordered that means i wont get the good old price and have to pay the now price
might as well save up a few more dollars and get a mountainair .25 kit

Hey Ed, have you considered a barrel from TOW. You can buy it by the inch, around 5 bucks per inch I think.

TOW gets their barrel liners from TJ's.cut out the middle man and save some money.i have thought about it by the time i get the liner have it machined i should have started with the mountainair kit in the first place.i wanted to use the marauder .25 barrel because it is/was a greenmountain barrel not a liner.plus it would have been way cheaper to buy local.
FYI TOW is 35 minutes from me.i have just about everything i need for airgunning right here in less than an hours drive.
if you want TJ's info i can get it they dont do internet sales you can call them to get what you need

Sounds like a plan for a nice shooter! :-*  Hmm a .25 liner same diameter as a stock barrel. Stop sharing these ideas, got a BNM .25 block on hand too.  I thought I was done with building Disco based air guns  :-* :-*

you gotta do it!
(http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0158.gif)JUST DO IT !!!!!! (http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0158.gif)
the TJ/TOW .25auto barrel liner(sold by the inch) is what most use for the conversion. it's 7/16 the same as a crosman barrel and pellet friendly.add a leade and transfer port hole you are set.i dont have the tools to do it so i still need someone with the tools and the know how to get the job done
i really gotta find a bottle!!!
tracking says 3 days so looks like friday i'll be seeing my parts(http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0005.gif) now i know how you guys feel when waiting for a package.good thing i have meds that make me sleep or else i might be up until friday :o :P ;D
the bottle people that have the hi pressure 1000-2400psi tanks want double the cost of a 850psi tank.i see they are adjustable with belleville washers.im going to pick up a $60 ninja tank add $12 worth of belleville washers and have 1500psi tank for $72 and some elbow grease
i saw the stack order on several different ag sites all saying the same thing so im going to give a shot
im a diy'r, this doesnt require special tooling to do it.on the website for the ninja tank it says it was made with the diy'r in mind

I have an 18 inch TOW barrel on Stone Cold. Charles Mellon did the necessary machine work including a very sweet crown. This barrel has been very accurate. I have taken many squirrels at 75-80 yards with most being head shots. I love shooting it!

did you know TOW gets their liners from TJ's?
T J's Enterprises. Phone: 859-635-5560 3652 Neltner Rd Alexandria, KY 41001
just about if not every barrel liner you see on TOW came from this guy
ordering from the source will save you money
i still might just order from TOW just because i believe it is good to support local business

alrighty,
just checked tracking on the 2300 tube
its in town hopefully will be out on delivery today
got the bottle and belleville washers ordered yesterday they should be here monday
the .25 maruader barrel should be here tuesday/wednesday then off to machining.
then i have two more projects i want to start

one is a crosman gun made completely without any crosman products.there are enough aftermarket products out there to build a complete crosman pistol without any crosman parts.how funny is that(http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0195.gif)
last but not least the 9mm crosman build.i found my hogged out disco valve finally.i swear i found it in a box i already looked through.now its sitting in my current projects box.
it pushed a jsb monster(25.4gr) at 947.9fps for a WHOPPING 50FPE :o  (http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0201.gif)
it should push a 77gr pellet perdy darn good
more to come after these brief messages(http://serve.mysmiley.net/winking/winking0071.gif)

I'm really curious to see the "non-crosman crosman" pistol come together!
tracking number says out for delivery
im waiting for my ride to come get so i can go home and wait for the package

i can give you the whole run down on the clone crosman thats what im goin to call either the clone or POD PISTOL like pod people from the invasion of the body snatchers movies
its going to be a
dc ss2260pcp tube
dc hammer
dc pa or maybe art-shack
one of my heavy hammer springs
bna boss disco valve and fill adapter
not sure on the breech im thinking maybe dc ss long breech.i want to go with a bnm breech but then ill need a crosman magazine
TJ barrel liner .25
crosmod trigger
that makes a crosman pistol without one crosman part.might make it a carbine if its to heavy
rides here gotta go

here it is peers!
the start of my bottle baby
oogie boogie has to go though ;D ;D
its a 2300 tube that has been machined to fit a disco valve securely.the end cap threads were cut off so all seals would be tight .it was then milled to accept a jdsairman adapter.for extra security a third retention bolt was added to the top of the adapter and tube
all machining was done over a 2+hour session on a lathe and milling machine
Lloyd-ss at the Airgun Lab did the custom fitting of the valve and adapter.  http://www.airgunlab.com/ (http://www.airgunlab.com/)
he used high strength socket head screws.he even milled a slot in the valve for the breech screw.with a 22xx build because it uses the old 4-48 breech screw location a slot needs to be made so the valve misses the breech screw.ill get pics of that when i start the build thread in the tech section
all i can say is Lloyd does excellent work with a fast turnaround
i have to mess with the settings on the camera to get better pics

tube and adapter
(http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/edf73/airguns/oogieboogie_zpsf77692b0.jpg)

3rd retention bolt beats 2 and the other 2 that would be where there is very little meat
(http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/edf73/airguns/3rdboltadapter_zps5043a85e.jpg)

the retention holes for the disco valve
(http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt211/edf73/airguns/oogieboogieupclose_zps1e8e8498.jpg)

i am surprised the hole didnt cut into the oogie boogie,it cut into the crosman customs.
doesnt matter its going to be stripped and painted
dont know what color yet but im thinking translucent blue, that fake anodizing paint look.if i knew how to do camo patterns i would go that route
more to come after these brief messages.be sure to turn that dial to catch the detailed build in the co2/pcp/hpa tech section

thanks! cant wait till my tank and bellville washers get here.then i can at least put everything together and shoot it until my .25 marauder barrel is ready
thanks to chongman i now know what oogie boogie is.i think oogie boogie stays for now ;)
im debating on  running down to the ag shop and get a disco rear end cap and make a pa out of it of just order one
i just bought a bunch of sandpaper for nothing now.oh well ill find a use for it and if oogie boogie has to go im ready

Ed, very nice machine work.  The build is going to be awesome :-* :-*
My Ninja 13 cui bottle came with a spring in the regulator and so I changed the spring out with washers & shims from McMasters.  Also the bottle had the wrenches and instructions!

thank's
Lloyd Sikes(Lloyd s-s) of airgunlabs did the machine work.he used a lathe and mill to cut the tube and holes.he even milled a slot in the disco valve so i can use it with an old 4-48 breech screw location tube
i forgot to take pics of the slot he did on the valve.very proffesional
my tank also came with the spring also,it came in yesterday.that was some fast shipping.i ordered some belleville washers from fastenal they are the same ones mcmaster-carr has stainless steel
they should be here tomorrow.i have to go to the store and pick them up. didnt get any extra shims i was told for the pressure i want i just needed 12 washers so thats what i ordered
if i go any higher i will have to order some shims
unless a kind CAPOF member with extras sends me some ;) ;D
hint hint lol
