I sent a message to you about the pellets I sent.I should have checked the forum first.Sorry for any confusion.
no problem, thanx for the pellets midnightsniper!
the gallery can only exist if people are able to spend some pellets, what is important for us all before buying
the gallery will be updated once a week.

You are welcome.Happy I could contribute. The pics are great.I can't see the pellets in good detail without magnification.
I think the producers/manufacturers don´t want to have exact pics of their pellets on the internet, because by this macrofotos you can see every bug they produce ;)

Really, really 'kool' pictures.
I know there is not too much difference but is there any chance you could possibly post some picts of the Promethus ThUnder Bolt pellet?
Thanks,
Carl
if you could send me some samples, so I will make some pics :)
They are coming from the UK and soon as I get them I will send you some.
Let me know where I need to send them.
Thanks much,
Carl
I had no idea there were so many pellets in production! Great pics.. :)
there are a lot more and everyone can help to enlarge the collection ;)
Good up date.
I been looking for more rare or antique pellets but have found nothing.
there are a lot of antique pellets, but 6 tins are too much for me

Great close up shots of the Sussex Sabo,I have thirty rounds left in the original plastic container..
If I can borrow my Fathers Webley Excel (dont have a break barrel myself) will put a couple through my crono.
Ray..
Another great update Zoltan, thank you very much :-* 8)
Very nice reference and I know a lot of effort was put into this.
Small suggestion. You really should include pictures of the pellet tins. Even if someone doesn't have the setup to take nice macro shots of the pellets, they must surely be able to snap a legible picture of the tin.
The pellet names are a mess. For instance there are pellets named H&N Field Target Trophy, H&N Field Target, H&N Field & Target Trophy, H&N Trophy Hunter, H&N Trophy Green, H&N Trophy Power, and so on... !!
Some of the confusion is caused by the vendors. For instance Beeman just redid the 0.177 Laser so it is now a wadcutter instead of a domed pellet. Go figure...

What is a guy to do to figure this out?!?

Herb

hallo herb. I can make pictures of the pellet tins, if I get them, but if not ......

if you can give me legal pictures, so I we can use it. I don´t want to have problems with copyrights

mistakes can happen, but where do you see in my list: H&N Field & Target Trophy ???

I hope you understand, that IÃ,´m not a millionair and I canÃ,´t buy all pellets. I need donations to upgrade my work. You are also invited to spend some pellets + pellet containers.
greetings
zoltan
I think I understand... I'm not a millionaire either. Copying pictures off the web has such a bad rap that it is hard to figure out a way to use the information without annoying and alienating the very folks whom you are asking/depending upon for cooperation.
I was trying to suggest that if someone is interested enough to send you some pellets that you ask for a picture of the tin. Even if it isn't a super advertising quality shot, the tin should be recognizable enough. The close-ups that you have taken through require skill that most of use don't have.
Great close up pellet pictures!!!!
I especially liked the inside views showing all the junk inside some of the pellets.
Being new to air gun target shooting, it will help a lot picking the right pellets.
Thanks
Nice update....What to say?
I feel little bit envy? ;D
Kvintor Arrowhead
i really like the looks of this pellet
Thanks for posting this info. Very valuable for possible evaluations.
Hello... I'm new to this forum.
I just wanted to thank you for posting these pics and info. It helped me decide which pellets to order. I ordered six very different types today and am looking forward to testing them all.
H&N Crow Magnum
H&N Diablo Sport Wadcutter
Elko Hyper Velocity
Predator Big Boy Sr.
Prometheus Piledriver
Prometheus Dynamic XP-2
ETA: I guess I should state that the modest air rifle I ordered has a rifled barrel and 28 lb/ft of energy. The rifling twist rate isn't advertised.
Another great update Zoltan, thank you very much :-* 8)
Zoltan, I think I speak for all members here and just want you to know we really appreciate all the effort you put into photographing the pellets and giving us the great documentation. :-* :-* :-*
Carl
This DB is one of the most amazing things I've seen lately!
Thanks for the work!!
ME EYES wow great selection of pellets good to see so much detail
Great pictures that just go to show that the build quality is directly linked to price. Goodness knows, some of them are approaching the price of .22LR rounds! I may as well bin the air gun and get the live rounds out! By the way, does anybody know how the 'better' pellets are made? I have some fairly capable workshop machinery and would like to have a go at making my own. By the looks of it, the cheaper ones are struck in a two part die. I suppose if the 'blanks' are cut over size, then any excess can be trimmed from an 'expansion hole' although I can't see any evidence of trimming on manufactured ones. Then there is 'rolling'. I think this will give a more uniform pellet but is probably a complicated and expensive set up. Can anyone post a link to Youtube or other that demonstrates manufacture?
Cheers,
IGK
I believe most production pellets are swaged. Don't know much about the process, and I've not found much information on the Web.
Just had the chance to browse through the pellet database gallery. This is just 'priceless' information. Never ever have I seen such a complete encyclopedia of pellets and the pics are just so awesome. Photography is another of my hobbies and this work is just so incredible. Congratulations and THANK YOU for the great effort and time invested to give us such complete information.

I agree 110%, I was just too lazy to comment earlier.
Awesome info indeed.

Thanks for the recent updates Zoltan :-* :-*
Fantastic photos are very helpful - thanks for your efforts. RC
Is there an easier and faster way to search the pellet collection? The index on page 1 does not seem to always send me to the correct webpage. This is such an awesome and extensive database, I would like to see it preserved and indexed for the benefit of all. Thanks.

I know this is a bit old but there is a video on youtube of a English gentelman that machines the swagging dies and makes a 5 place lead mold to cast the blanks. At first I thought he made little batches of the pellets then sold them on ebay but he's selling the mold and dies at not too unreasonable a price...considering what we are paying for other things for this "inexpensive" hobby :P

that would be a good idea
with it being so large i wonder how long that would take to do so
Wow, simply awesome photos!
I could browse through the database all day.
If I ever come across some pellets that aren't in the db I'll be sure to send some.
Thank you for the incredible pellet pictures
Have to say in the Infamous words of Arnold in predator ....
You are one ugly mother-*ucker .... some of those pellet are SOOOOOO crude surprised many can hit the broad side of 55 gallon drum at 20 feet !!
Thank for sharing :-*
help
I can't find anything on the Crosman premier hollow point?
Zoltan,
Just wanted to again give you a great big 'SHOUT OUT' for taking time to photograph all these pellets and catalog them and post them for us CAPOF members. I know it takes a lot of time to do this and we want you to know it is much appreciated.
Carl
Now knowing who the wonderful person is who created all this data, THANKS!
Seeing pellets under consideration that are not available locally is GREAT!
And also the very poor formed that should not be considered.

This post is OUTSTANDING in showing the photo's of the garbage on the outside and inside the skirts,
the inside taper reviles how the molding should produce the best consistencies for the best accuracy, or the lack there of. :-*
