Title: Removing 2240 front sight
Post by: Jaybo on January 21, 2019, 09:51:30 PM
I want disassemble my 2240 to do some custom mods starting with the front sight.  For the life of me I can't get it off even after some vigorous tapping (with a hammer assist).  Isn't it supposed to just slide off fairly easily?

I finally put the sight in a vice(!), twisted it around, and it finally came off.

One light tap on a wooden block placed behind the back edge of the sight should take it right off.   :)

Yes, it is pressed on.    Try holding it in a vise (protecting the finish) and using a block of wood against the sight and tap the wood.   Should pop off.    I've only had one tight enough to require this.
