They are not the same.

More in a few minutes .......

Ok, since you used the words, "2300" and "2400", and did not use, 2300S and 2300T, I believe you are talking about the 2300K and 2400K Custom Shop guns.

Custom Shop 2400K has the long steel breech like the AS2250 and 2300S, part number AS2250-025.   And has the rearward located 4-48  machine screw.

Custom Shop 2300K has the short steel breech like the 2300T, part number 2300-047.   And has the rearward located 4-48 machine screw.

Neither of these are the breeches in the Steel Breeches Kits.

EDIT:

There was another steel breech - may not be available now.    The Discovery rifle had a breech like the AS2250 breech, but without the rear sight dovetail - part number 1761-019.

The Maximus rifles use the AS2250 breech.

Beautiful pistol KevinP.  :-*

I just received an e-mail today from Don Cothran...  He asked me if the 2400 breech and the 2300 breech are the same.  I'm assuming they are; if someone has a definitive answer, please post it here.

Thank you.

Thanks marflow.  :)

Don Cothran's work is about the best I've ever seen, and if he's still making stainless steel upgrades, I'd like to get a stainless CO2 tube and a stainless breech.  Two weeks ago I ordered a stainless barrel band, and had it delivered to a relative in the U.S.A.

When writing a reply go down to where it says "click or drag files here to attach them."  We'd love to see some photos of your pistol.  :-*   Look at the image I'm attaching...  I circled in red where you need to click.  TBH I was a bit perplexed with the forum format refresh;  looking it over a couple of times, the solution was hiding in plain sight.  ;D

just got 3 roller triggers from him last month
i am not sure Don ships out of the country you would pay with Pay Pal
the other thing is his site was down for a long time and i think he was Sick or something else
the site is still incomplete to what it was before and as you have seen his products are as nice as anyone has ever made i have made a pistol out of his parts and many others that are not made any more

i would show it but unable to figure out how

Crosman air pistol - General discussion / Availability of Don Cothran SS...
Last post by Drdan - February 11, 2024, 06:13:42 AM
On Don Cothran's website stainless steel CO2 tubes are available, and a Google search found a now defunct link where stainless steel breeches and other nice upgrades were offered.  Here's the link:

Cothran's Stainless Steel Parts

On Don's website there is a parts request option that I filled out a couple of weeks ago, but didn't receive a response...  Is Don still making these breeches upon request and if so, do any forum members have one installed on their 22XX pistols?

This is a very nice upgrade, and as per the link they were available with either a right or left bold handle position, and either a front or rear screw.  Any more information and/or reviews of the Don's ss breech or CO2 tube would be appreciated. :-*

Quote from: CraigH on February 09, 2024, 01:35:50 PMI have been fortunate, or more likely lucky, to tune a few base Crosman triggers to quite excellent 1-pound triggers.

I asked Teun Meen at Metura Sheissport (Metura Shooting Sports) to tune my single stage trigger to 400 grams, which is about 9/10 of a pound.

Good discussion.

I have been fortunate, or more likely lucky, to tune a few base Crosman triggers to quite excellent 1-pound triggers. Also some not as responsive to the efforts.

And I have 4 or 5 Crosman/Benjamin PRod, 1701P, 1720T triggers.   ;D  ;D  ;D

Being much more the Plinker/Pester, and not a good Pistolero, those cover my needs.

I wish I could shoot to the capabilities of premiere competition pistols.

The airgunbuy.com billet aluminum grip frame and two stage trigger for about $250 is a significant upgrade to the 2300S's Zamak zinc alloy grip frame, and along with a nice 2 stage trigger seems like a bargain. Merely having the aluminum frame merits the expense for me...

If I wanted an exceptional out of the box match pellet pistol I'd opt for a Morini, Feinwerkbau or Steyr, but I would not not have the option for many if any aftermarket upgrades.

I will not be shooting competitively so I do not need an Olympic capable pistol, and will derive more enjoyment in purchasing a pretty accurate gun that I make fully mine with a bit of tweaking. Researching the upgrades, purchasing the parts, selecting the colors and finishes, etc., also makes the gestalt even more pleasurable.  :)

yes the trigger assembly was used first on the Marauder starting in 2010 and then the 1701p in 2011
but the 2220 part number is hard to link to the Marauder
i always just say the 1720
the problem with the other trigger group is not how it works it is the absurd cost
there have few choices for the 2240 platform when it came to trigger groups
there was the Blue Fork but it used a plain old Crosman sear
you can do with what you can with a stock sear, i take off 1mm off the top it is 9.5mm so down to 8.5 and of course change the spring to as light as you want
there are spring guides for the sear spring and they need the spring changed, you have the super sear and the 1701p trigger group

if you want a target pistol buy a target pistol you could just as easily find a Tau 7 if you what to stay with CO2 or look on EGUN
