I recently purchased a 1322c (mfg May 2012) and was really surprised at the poor quality. Instead of the nice solid pump arm pin with c-clip that my old 1377 phase II had, the 1322c had a poorly fitted roll pin and the pump handle arm is so sloppy that I was afraid I might bend it while pumping, and it squeaked like a wounded mouse. It also has a plastic side plate which is a bit too flexible. I obtained a 14.5 inch barrel, fiber optic front sight, barrel band, pump handle from a 760, Mellonair solid pin and long probe bolt. Even with the Mellonair solid pin, washer and bushing, it still has too much play in it. I think I am going to try and find some thin washers to add to it. I am really disappointed that it is not as well made as my old 1377 phase II. It did quit squeaking after I took it apart and slicked up the tube.
I also greatly improved the trigger by polishing the trigger, sear and hammer and replaced the old spring with a lighter spring and plastic guide. Also, the barrel band does not fit flush with the tube. I put an o-ring in it, but it would be much better to have a metal washer. I have not yet been able to find one of the correct size.
Unless you are just a casual plinker shotin beer cans, these 13XX pistols are just a roughly made, blank canvas waiting for an "artist" to make them into art :-*
hey 7624452, can I ask how you polished the trigger and sear? did you use any polish compound? any pics, by chance?

You are correct. The casual plinker who drinks the beer and then shoots the cans will notice nothing until the pump handle comes off in his hand.

I did not take any pictures. I start with files, go to finer and finer emery paper and then use the polish that comes with a dremel tool. You also need to put thin washers on the pivot points of the trigger and sear to stabilize them.
thats a fine looking pistol there!
Next time you are in the WalMart or any store like it take a walk in the section for finger nail stuff. There will be all kinds (grits) of "sticks" for shaping finger nails. Some of them are really fine grit, for final polishing. Very useful for working surfaces to a slick finish ;)
a metal aftermarket barrel band helps take out some of that wobble on the pump arm too, I believe
I agree... I use these :-* they are either made out of brass or aluminum (brushed, polished or anodised in multiple colors now, not just these 3), sighted or not.... from Mike Chavka in the green and yellow forums. they are a HUGE improvement over the flimsy plastic 'stock' bands...

His design is much cleaner than most with the two set screws, one for the barrel and one to hold the linkage pin in place :-*

That is a very good idea. I have a lot of expensive emery paper left over from my wood working days, but most people would not have that.

I will probably get some of those eventually. Meanwhile, I am the type that needs to fix everything that does not work, so I will not replace the factory band until I modify it to my satisfaction. Your pistol looks great. I note the energy drink - I have to drink one if I pump more than three times.

You'll have to make one, have one maded, or find a phase II pump tube.

That's a good job you did on your shim. I have not done that because I do not have many tools or a proper workplace at my current location. I might cure it by moving the long barrel to the 1377.

Hey 1377x:
If you look at the second picture, in the first post, you'll see a o-ring between the barrel band and the pump tube.
This is the one I made out of brass.

gotcha!
luckily none of my pumpers have had that issue
another solution is to add a screw to the barrel band behind the pivot pin as a stablizer
like this, been thinking about this mod for a couple years now

I can not tell exactly how that one is put together, but a screw in a plastic band would not be stong enough to last more than a few pumps.
the band is aluminum in the pic someone did do it with the plastic band it worked, they never reported back that it broke, but that doesnt mean it didnt
how its done is in the link
