Title: 1322/1377 dilemma, help me decide what parts to put on what gun LOL
Post by: thestarlingassassin on September 05, 2018, 04:39:11 PM
posted this on another forum also, but thought i may get better opinions here....

ok,

after i stripped the breech screw on a brand new custom shop 1322 and torx bits wouldnt get it out,
i started to drill the head out for a screw extractor,
aaaaand.... the screw broke off flush with the tube (yay fun)

decided to drill the stub to see if the extractor could get it out,
the drill caught and screwed the remaining nub all the way into the tube (at least its out) and miraculously didnt harm the threads.

took the broken piece out and cleaned the inside of the tube and all seems well.

You may all now laugh and point fingers at me...... ;D  ;D............

anyway,on the the dilemma.

have a 1377 and a 1322 but since for the time being im left with only 1 breech screw between 2 guns,
and my flat top valve/piston and enlarged transfer port came in today,
im trying to decide what to do for now .......

1.  put the ft valve/piston/transfer port in the 1377 with a 24" barrel

OR

2. put the ft valve/piston/transfer port in the 1322 with either an 18" or a 14.6 barrel.

could be lack of sleep, but im having trouble deciding.

so im asking, what would you do,and why?

I'd say .22, because I don't think you need an enlarged transfer port for .177.

i ended up tapping the breech screw hole in the tube for 6-32 ,

and turned down the head of a brass screw in height and diameter and length,so it would fit the breech hole,

worked great   :-*

and the good news is i can now assemble both guns, because i still have the original screw i slotted.

anyways,i decided to give the flattop piston and valve to the .177 to flatten its trajectory a bit.

as my maximus is already in .22

lookout groundhogs  :D
