Title: Latest Crosman parts cost and a question
Post by: rangerfredbob on August 22, 2013, 06:41:08 AM
I made a parts order from Crosman last week and here's some latest prices:

-24" .22 barrel 2260-003 $14.10
-14.5" .22 barrel 2250-019 $13.02
-13XX valve assembly 1322C013 $6.08 (dang that's cheap)
-standard front sight 788-101 $1.15
-fiber optic front sight 760-201 $1.54
-carbine stock with screw holes 1399A001 $10.87
-760 barrel band 760D008 $1.15
-760 pump tube 760G094 $7.05
-Left 1701 grip 1700-031 $1.74
-Right 1701 grip 1700-032 $1.74

That's pretty cheap, but everything I got today added up to $67.07 with shipping (I skipped a couple things that no one cares about), they charged me $103 and change as I had a few other parts on my order (a couple Mrod magazines and a Powermaster 66 barrel mostly), there's no note that they are sending the rest later or anything, is this normal? I'll give them a call tomorrow hopefully if work isn't too insane...

Yup it's a weird thing with Crosman. Most of the time I get charged double, then "all" funds are credited back right before shipping. Then when the item ships they take out the original cost of the order.Crosman service is great, but I've never seen a billing system like that... ???
That being said, they always come through...Give em' a call,I'd say.

and here i thought i was the only one that happened to.
now i just run over to the ag shop
$5 worth of gas saves time on the phone, no double/triple charges and same day parts

The closest Crosman service shop is 45 minutes away from work if I remember right (might be on in Salem, but they would be closed when I could get there), so there's no real chance of me getting to one :)

Call the shop. They may ship parts to you. I have a Crosman repair shop three hours away from me and there is no way I am driving down to visit with them for a few parts. But, I can call them, tell them what I need, they ship and I remit a PayPal payment. And, if they have the parts I need, I get them faster than if I order directly from Crosman.

a good thing to remember also is
not all service stations are equal!!
i know of one with sky high prices better off buying on ebay or jg. i have a good one here
and another just below ebay or jg basically a toss up of which one you want to deal with
the one i go to has reasonable prices and repairs are reasonable too.
like 140 reseal parts. what most charge for the parts, i can get the gun resealed by an experienced professional for less than their parts price
he is in the air gun repair business not a parts supplier business as he tells me but he knows how i dont like crosmans billing process so he orders extra parts for me. cash-n-carry just the way i like it ;)

About parts availability,
Everything has to come from CONUS across the Pacific to Honolulu!  No such thing as a service center or a repair shop here :D

Strickly DIY :-*

Glen, you may have identified a niche market for the islands. Tinkers Airgun Repair & Custom Airgun Shop - how cool.

I don't know how much airgun business Glen would have in Hawaii because of the limited number of enthusiasts, but I can tell you that 100% of my repairs have had to be sent back to the mainland and NOTHING has been purchased here.

no clue!
i am guessing someone thought it important enough to keep it from getting lost in the shuffle
as a sticky it will always be on the first page and anyone with current prices of crosman pistol parts can add to it letting the rest know the current prices and part numbers

-66-036 Powermaster 66 rifled barrel $8.22, direct replacement for the smooth bore Recruit barrel (and probably other soda straw barrel equipped guns)

Ordered a Crosman 1389 forend for my 1377 around June 16th (approx 3 weeks ago).  Part number was 1389-25 and price was $8.75.

Some posts I saw on various sites circa 2012 were worried these were going out of stock never to return but the woman I spoke with on the phone knew nothing about it.  This part is apparently used on a current-production gun and isn't going anywhere.

Walt, you are correct, the 1389-025 isn't going anywhere (for now anyway). It's the newer, black version for the current .22 caliber 2289 Backpacker. I think the older posts you looked at were referring to the old, green color 1389-010 part, which is the same molded, two piece plastic but it was that god-awful green color they used on the .177 caliber Backpackers in the 90's. That one is history.

Is there an easy way to get prices than having to call them once in a while?

With all the part being on sale on the web, eBay, etc... Seems to buy directly from crosman is way better as for the pricing... right? Beside expensive shipping?

Thanks for any insight...

Nope.. Crosman wants the old-skool hurdles (parts list reading and phone calls) to be jumped over by actual Crosman customers and hobby-ists versus casual Ebay buyers and sellers who can't even spell Crosman.

This is a RARE service in this day and age (try getting Gamo on the phone with P/Ns they won't even publish) and Crosman views it as just that, a service to the AG Hobby community. If they automated all this, it would just become a clearing house and amazon-like operation for Ebay Scoundrels >:(  who sell plastic front sights for $15 + $8 shpg. when the Crosman price is $3.85 ea + $4 shpg.

And when was $4 "expensive shipping"  ???

Thanks for your comment. I agree.
I've seen $10 springs on the web... Come on...

As for the shipping, it was expensive when I wanted to buy a steel breech... Around $7.50 to USA (NY) and $15 to Canada.
But that was using their online quote shopping cart....
I finally opted for pyramid air for that peice...

Does Crosman have a published parts and price list anywhere? It has been suggested that a steel breech for my new 1377 would be a wise and worthy investment. However, adding that price onto everything else that I would like to add, makes the total $ take a pretty good jump.

I thought maybe there was a Classified here, but it's not like there are many who will be selling their steel breeches from their 1377 modded to 1322. :)

Is the steel breech the same for a 1377 or 1322?

-24" .22 barrel 2260-003 $14.10
-14.5" .22 barrel 2250-019 $13.02
-13XX valve assembly 1322C013 $6.08 (dang that's cheap)

-760 barrel band 760D008 $1.15
-760 pump tube 760G094 $7.05
-Left 1701 grip 1700-031 $1.74
-Right 1701 grip 1700-032 $1.74

That's pretty cheap, but everything I got today added up to $67.07 with shipping (I skipped a couple things that no one cares about), they charged me $103 and change as I had a few other parts on my order (a couple Mrod magazines and a Powermaster 66 barrel mostly), there's no note that they are sending the rest later or anything, is this normal? Prices have evidently sky-rocketted in 2 1/2 years. I just bought the 1701 grips yesterday and they were $1.75 each!!!! ;) But at least at that price hike the shipping remains the same $4.

FYI the 1701P Grip Frame Assembly 2220-103 was only $36.xx Can't remember the change. I suffer from C.R.S. (Can't Remember Towels???) :)

I don't think the 1701P grip frame has gone up hardly any.  When I first bought mine I think I was paying $33.49 for each one.  Some of the good Crosman stuff is still inexpensive and I definitely believe the 1701P trigger frame is one of Crosman's best ever offerings.

I would guess that you will need to oeder each of the parts shown. Normally, it will say "assy" for an assembly.

This is a nice front site with the ability to turn the post for a thinner or thicker view.

I also like that it's thin on the bottom so it'll clear an extended tube. I'll ask what's included when I put the order in, but getting info that way doesn't always work. Otherwise I'll just order everything shown.

I just emailed a parts order to Crosman and found that the Disco hammer spring part number has changed. It was 2261-009, it is now  2261A009.

Also the piercing pin/disc used on several different Crosman models as well as in the Pro-Top valve conversion has changed. It was 38A027, it is now T4-041. This I had already read somewhere and it was confirmed by Crosman.

Do (will) you have both Discovery hammer springs from which the specs can be measured?

The new Disco spring will replace one from a hardware store, so all I will have is the new one. FWIW, I read (but haven't verified) that there were three different Disco hammer spring part numbers- the two above and 1761-009.

Do (will) you have both Discovery hammer springs from which the specs can be measured?
Sorry I took so long to get back w/this. I believe the following is correct- I know for the spring I have (bottom spring) the specs are correct.

Disco (previously called the "new" hammer spring): 16 coils, 2.25" OAL, 0.035" wire
Disco Hammer spring p/n 2261A009 bought 6-2018: 1.65" OAL, 0.282" OD, 0.043" wire

WOW...that 18" barrel is actually $22 SHIPPED. I guess because of size, it's more expensive to ship, but the barrel itself is about $10.

No, the LW barrel would be more than that, I'm sure. I was exclaiming on the lowness of the price for an 18" barrel.

I just bought a 18" . 22 Barrel from Crosman. Cost $14.25 and shipping was $17.35. I had some other stuff in there but they said it was the barrel that drove up the shipping costs.

Have they gone away from the flat $4.00 date on everything?? I Should have asked...

IIRC, barrels don't fall under the $4 shipping. And I seem to recall metal breeches or breech 'kits' didn't either, but I'm hazy on that.

I think it's only on barrels - call them to be sure.
