Title: Crosman 2240 mod tips
Post by: Hoss on September 24, 2020, 10:17:21 PM
As I stated in another post, I just bought a crosman 2240.
Here's what I'm thinking.

1. A 10" barrel
2. High preference value
3. Hammer spring power adjuster
4. Adjustable trigger sear spring

Can anyone give me more suggestions, like any more parts or refining any of the factory parts.

Thinks!

I have another question, if I do all of the mods that I talked about, should I replace the hammer as well, if so any suggestions?

My top 5

1) steel breech
2) hollow probe bolt and new handle
3) super sear or 1701p trigger frame
4) Pistol Scope, red dot or rear site
5) power adjuster with spring guide

My go as you go..
- trigger shoe
- lighter adjustable sear spring setup from the custom shop if using a super sear
- muzzle brake with site pin
- LDC if noise bothers you.
- need a solid striker if going with a 1701p trigger frame.
- 1399 shoulder stock. With 10" barrel it will be a nice option to shoot as a carbine.
- steel, brass or aluminum safety pin
-
As a pistol, I shoot 5 & 10 meters only at paper, so my top 5  list is all about bettering accuracy and getting shot count in the 450 fps with 35-40 good flat shots.

If your looking for power, I'm sure that you'll get more responses.

Um...What's with the teensy writing?  Here it is again, in a more-normal size:

Do they make a hollow probe bolt that's not extended?  I can't use an extended one, I have a 9 round magazine for my 2240 and it won't work if it's extended.

Where is a good place to buy one?

Thanks!

I put on a steel breech, a boss valve from Alchemy Airwerks, a 1701p trigger frame and a 6.5 tko. I also put in a different hammer (off hand I can't remember why but I think to clear the breech screw) Now I'm just blinging it out.

I think you'd be best off with what is already working. I've never used a repeater breech on a 22xx. Others might know more.
