Post by: 7624452 on December 11, 2012, 12:02:47 AM

Are those the 1701P grips? If so, would you happen to have the part numbers??

I placed five orders from 23 Sep to 6 Oct and I received the final order (the one placed on 23 Sep) on 28 Nov.
I have already installed it on my Droid X and Samsung Galaxy Tab - works great.  I paid $3.85 for the Pro version, I don't like the ads on the free ones.

I do not have anywhere to shoot right now other than my bedroom - 3 pumps at 2.5 yards.

Methinks I am seeing double. Good job. I am curious why you decided to install pressure adjusters on those pistols? Are you using the stock 13xx hammer springs?

Stock springs.  I just thought the adjusters would match the barrel bands.

Very nice Art... those 1701 grips are great aren't they? I just got 3 pairs of e'm and they feel much better than the stockers. Hope Crosman runs out of those wood grain things someday and just goes with the 1701 grips on all of their guns as std.  ???

1700-031 and 1700-032 $1.74 each

Are those the standard PC77 grips or something different? Meaning, did you just replace wood-tone stock grips for standard black.

Tater, those are 1700 grips, listed under Crosman pistols diagrams on the Cros site  http://www.crosman.com/pdf/manuals/1700P%20EVP%20&%20PL.pdf (http://www.crosman.com/pdf/manuals/1700P%20EVP%20&%20PL.pdf)

They are $1.89-ish each, call it $4 per pair,  P/N 1700-031 & 1700-032. The same shape as the funky wood-grain looking grips (black) that are std on PC 77 pistols but, the grip panels are a pebbly finish and the rest of the grip is smooth matte finish, match-up well with 2289 backpacker pump handles etc.

Thank you BDS. They look nice and I'll probably get them with my next order. I was kind of hoping they were a bit wider. My trigger finger grips the trigger with under the first knuckle of my index finger instead of the finger tip. I have to focus on where I contact the trigger each time and I wish it was more of a natural fit.

You can use 1/8" thick gasket material (black viton or rubber) between the frame and grips to make the total grip width 1/4" thicker, it will make more of a difference than you might guess. You could also make panels from 1/8" wood paneling or plastic sheet stock that you cut to the grip outlines. The stock grip screws may be a tad too short but they are easy to find, get 6-32 screws and saw to length needed.

Fantastic idea! I like that.
Would auto parts stores have that, Home Depot or order online somewhere?

You can find really well finished 1/8" wood pieces at hobby stores or those craft stores, the wood would (ha ha wood would :D) be the easiest to work with and the edges could be stained or blacked out, if the wood is light, a stain would look cool, kind'a lika rifle stock spacer? Rubber gasket material should be available at NAPA (real) auto parts stores, prob not at the O'Reilly or Pep Boys type stores.

Quotepebbly finish and the rest of the grip is smooth matte finish
And they have a Crosman logo on the lower part of the sides.
I have three sets and I like them much better than the std ones.
Cheers,

I love those grips, we get them over here but they are $15 a set, still worth it though.

To be honest Brian, I like them a lot more than some aftermarket ones.

Yup, even with a fair wedge of $15, they are far less $ and more comfortable than many of the afermarket wood grips out there, I even improved my hold and groups with e'm!  :D :-*

Those guns look ready for lots of shooting!  Actually i have bought all the exact same stuff as you for my 1322, added the beautiful walnut grips from ralph, and even did the|P-rod grip frame swap (only $45 and man what a phenomenol difference in the trigger!!! I advise the mod if you are thinking about that - it is not very hard to do at all.)

Anyway i had just received a 12" barrel from Charles Mellon, plus a solid hammer for the P rod tirgger conversion that i have yet to install.  Mr Mellon takes a while but i know he really puts his heart and soul into his parts, and i'm hoping the barrel once i install it will be the most accurate yet.  Anyway i also installed a 6" barrel shroud too.  It is soldi, Mr Mellon wont put in baffles.  Even so, i had to try it out for sound reduction, and I couldn't believe it - since the barrel isnt on yet i had to hold it tight to the end of my barrel and dry fire it.  Man what a difference in the sound!  Since its solid i didn't think there would be any difference at all but there is QUITE a difference.  If noise reduction is important to you, one of his shrouds is worth a try - if i buy another shroud i'll go for a longer one, but at just 6" i think the sound signature reduction is pretty good even at 7 pumps its way more quiet.

the only problem with it is the hole in the shroud, that slides over the barrel was machined too narrow.  So i am going to have to drill it out some before i fit it permanently. If i mess it up of course, there's a danger of pellet strikes but the noise reduction will be well worth it, if only i can fit it right!  This shroud cost me $20 from charles.

Here's my gun with the stock barrel, RB super pumper before i fit the grips,, airgunsmith FT piston and Bushnell trophy XT red dot site, and chavka barrel band.   once i fit the barrel and shroud the gun's done.  Then comes accurizing and im hoping to get a one-hole shooter at 50 feet with 10 pumps, that's my ultimate goal.
