Post by: howie1968 on December 23, 2012, 04:42:35 PM
I love this pistol!!! talk about fun after intital sight in and popping soda cans and a tin can hanging from the tree i decided to go to 10 yards and shoot at this 3 inch bull for the fun of it i am pretty impressed with the gun  shoots well i shot this in single action, ill try tomorrow in double action, although doble action is nice ive shot alot of 357 handguns that were alot stiffer

Thank you sir i do love it, was wondering if there is a way to imporve the front sight picture by painting or something, what do you all suggest or do you all just leave it black

You could paint the front blade white.

Isn't it funny the gun will shoot everything but the bull? I have had days like that where the pellets never quite hit the 10 ring, yet group pretty well.

Use whatever color contrasts well for you.  I suggest bright yellow or blaze orange but the real question is what works for you.  As you can tell from my avatar, I currently have a red dot sight on my 357 but plan to move to a low profile reflex sight in the near future, but simply painting the front sight blade will improve your sight picture a lot.

I put a red dot on mine and found it was to heavy for the rail, would move side to side.
I put a lazer on it and that works just fine ...

I have an Aftermath red dot on it at the present.  I have found that my 70 old eyes don't work that well in picking up sight picture with open sights so I have optics of some sort on all of my guns.  On my rimfire pistols, I tried fiber optic front sights and they helped but moving on up to a red dot helped even more.  I have a Browning reflex sight on one of my 2240s and I really like it; feels much more "open" than the regular red dots and the choice of reticles makes it even more useful.  I will probably move to reflex sights on all my pistols, simply because I like them more than the red dots.
