Title: I've been doing a little practicing with my Ted Williams
Post by: Wayne52 † on December 27, 2021, 01:22:13 PM
I'm going to try finding a good spot in my house that's warm where I can do some off hand shooting to enter the December contest, I still may do it in the attic with my Crosman 130 though.  I really do like the Ted Williams though because it really does print decent with my wad cutters.

Thanks Kevin !!! I was shooting off hand sitting in a chair, I still need to print some of the December contest targets, is that still good if I send my entry in by December 31st?  Of course I figure for the contest I'll need to be standing so I still might end up using my Crosman 130 in the attic because co2 ain't so good in that cold air 8)

Thanks I did another one early this morning with my Crosman 150, no way I was headed to the state land at only 17 degrees out there.

17 degrees is a lot better than -27 degrees. its so cold it hurts here. and to think i used to shoot nutters in that cold

I did another numbers shoot target yesterday morning again with my Crosman 150, I'm sitting in an old office chair about 15 feet from the target when I shoot them, I had cast up another bunch of wad cutters the day before and just had to see how they were performing and I was happy with the results.  The cartridge was almost empty when I shot these thirteen shots however with the power dropping I still did pretty good.

You can see that this batch came out really nice, a friend that contracts for the city has been giving me a bunch of lead pipe is what I used to cast these.  The lead is as pure as you can get with hardness at 4BHN.

I've got about 100lbs of 1lb ingots cast up but probably another 150lbs to cut up, melt and cast into more ingots yet, got enough lead to last me a long time.
