a couple of months ago i bought a 451 unseen but i was told complete and working
last week it was dropped off for me and it did work so happy days
after 5 days i thought i'd shoot it but no co2 so i put a fresh one and it promptly dumped it all out of the barrel ,bother or words to that effect were uttered
now with these being rare and parts i'm told like hens teeth i started to strip it and eventually got to the brass block and co2 inlet and after warming with a pen torch and aplication of eezox i finally got the feed plug out and the stem
out to the lathe and a bit of heat again and i seperated the stem from the body made a new poly seal and reassembled it ,now here i may have made a mistake as i didn't check the bnlowback piston as it was working before and with this i only wanted to strip what i had to
i then reassembled the right fiddly thing (you need three hands at times ) and finally got to fitting the hammer springs which is a pain but tweezers and hook picks came up trumps
so now she was assembled i put a new cart in and success no leaking but recocking the hammer is hit and miss so not inspecting the blow back piston may result in me stripping her again but we'll deal with that in the future
pics of stem
I've never come across one of those (or seen inside one). Nice!

... and has Snap-on tools in the UK! That is serious business! ;)
i spent a lot of money with the snap on man in the 90's David when i worked in a commercial paintshop stripping new tractor units so they could have the factory/custom paintwork done
good tools and i still have most of them (apart from a couple of 10mm's as they just vanish never to be seen again)nearly 30 years later
Congrats, ped on a job well done!
I knew you were looking for one of these a few years back.
To get one and get the old gal working is not easy... and not done by many... but I'm not surprised by your success. I've always admired your abilities :-*
I hope you like it as much as I like mine (all four of them) :o Yes, still an addict and enjoying it ;D thanks-

Well, Ped, you can find those 10mm's somewhere rolling around in the body of my Mercedes! That 451 is really a beautiful gun!
