Title: 1389 Back Packer - Anyone got an "Original"?
Post by: 0351_Vet on January 15, 2012, 08:32:17 AM
Love to see pics. Just got one and it is really cool. GREAT FIND.

I'll post pics as soon as I take some. How did Crosman pick this color green... ???

Very Cool Rifle / Pistol...... What fun this will be.

Please share your pics and knowledge. (So, was $60 too much to pay?) Not sure I want to know.

Fires great, all original and great shape....... :-*

Thanks, Walt

Mike,

Mine has the Green Handles as well. Looks exactly like yours.
Wild little swinging breech set-up, don't you think.  :-*

Mike, quick question.

Is there a way you have found to keep the stock from rocking?
It seems that the little push pin at the rear of the grip frame wants to move backwards.  :o

Is this a common problem? Any solutions?  ???

Thanks

I was thinking about getting a 1399 stock and paint it green this was i can use the screws it will help and i wont mess up the stock that came with the gun.

That's funny, I was thinking about drilling the Green One, then thought I'd wreck the value, so I put a black 1389 on it.  :-*
I guess all of these BPr's have that "common loose stock issue".  ???

I have been using the 1389 stock "without screws" for sometime. It does wobble but it doesn't seem to effect
me when shooting. ???  Once shouldered I don't feel any wobble at all.

I just stuck the 1389 Set (Black Stock and Forearm) on it.. I  like the Green as it was different, but with this Black Set it is nice and tight.
Looks pretty good all black too.  :-*

I drilled my green one.  Cant see it going priceless When theyre all gone.  Didn't want to but figured this airgun will be handed down tO my son and who knows where it will go from there.  Brass screws really set it off too.

Two holes drilled in bottom of green pistol grip and tapped for 5mm,then wind in two grub screws (I used nylon ones) till they come up against pistol frame, takes up the slop in the stock, but you can still detach it quickley.
