Title: Post Pics of your .25 Cal Pistols - And some Info
Post by: 0351_Vet on February 24, 2012, 04:49:20 PM
We (I) all want one, and some here have already put them together.

Let's see them .25's
Pistols and Rifles (Crosman/Benji Only)

Give us some info, i.e. Valve Mods, Barrel, TP Diameter, Pellets, Shot Count, Accuracy and any good advise you have learned.

Thanks in advance.  :-*

Well this one is based on a 22xx platform by Dennis Quackenbush. It's a Daq .25cal Outlaw pistol converted to a light carbine. I have it dialed to shoot JSB Kings 25.4gr,2700psi fill,at 935fps/49.3fpe. I also shoot #3 buckshot 23.3gr,2500psi fill,at 747fps/28.8fpe.

Once again, I pronounce a 1325, a 2530 and a killer 1377 all from Mountain Air Custom Airguns.

Here are some numbers, too:

The pellets used for all my testing are Beeman H&N Match Wadcutters weighing in at 20.06 grains.

          1325 at 5 pumps - 20 shots
                 FPS    FPE
          Min = 353.70  5.57
          Max = 359.00  5.74
         Mean = 356.66  5.67
       Median = 356.60  5.67
Hi Lo Spread = 5.30    0.17
Std Deviation = 1.93    0.06

          1325 at 10 pumps - 20 shots
                 FPS    FPE
          Min = 447.70  8.93
          Max = 462.80  9.54
         Mean = 453.78  9.18
       Median = 452.70  9.13
Hi Lo Spread = 15.10   0.61
Std Deviation = 6.34    0.26

The 1325 using some Beeman pellets that weighed 20.06 grains and using 12 pumps and 10 shots averaged 467.6 FPS.  Then doing 15 pumps and 10 shots got an average of 496.4 FPS.

          2540 new powerlet - 20 shots
                FPS     FPE
          Min = 482.40  10.37
          Max = 523.40  12.21
         Mean = 501.93  11.23
       Median = 499.05  11.10
Hi Lo Spread = 41.00   1.84
Std Deviation = 15.54   0.70

Thanks again, Carl  :-*

You probably have seen my only .25 cal shooter. "Stone Cold" has been under going a face lift recently. That ordeal is finally over as my long awaited .040 spring arrived today.

"STONE COLD" is based on a Disco tube 11.5 inches long that I cut and machined to eliminate the gage hole.
One end of the tube sports a PA/Tippman stock adapter I got from Carl
The other end has a QB79 drop block for mounting a 2000 psi reg and 3000 psi/22 cu.in. HPA Expert Tank
18inch TOW barrel prepped by C Mellon and a Mellon flow thru bolt
SS breech by Don Cothran, drilled for both screw locations
BNM Riser block with some extra pockets machined for o-rings to seal
B@A Disco Boss Valve with some internal work to smooth flow
Hammer extended .065 on front side to add weight and open valve further and longer
Extended Hammer spring guide in hammer to add weight
TP is SS thin wall tube .25 x .210
I was able to shoot over the chrony this afternoon and am well pleased
With the new spring, H@N FTT are traveling 875 fps with a SD of 1.4  FPE 33.4
Poly Mags are moving at 800fps with a SD of 1  FPE 35.5
On top is a HD7 LUCID RED DOT (sweet)
TippMan stock from Carl and a Winchester sling complete the package

Stone Cold is a pleasure to shoot, With only a couple days left in Squirrel season I cant wait to put a POLY Mag in one. I'm ready for some more Squirrel bisque!!!

So much work has gone into this shooter I am sure something has been left out. If you have questions I am happy to answer.

While testing today I placed a pellet tin lid at 30 yards. Thought you might like to see what happened to it.

007,

Some cool $hit there. Nice numbers out of the gate and 33 FPE...NICE.

What's that thing dangling under the forearm area?

Also, what PSI are you running through that Disco Tube? (I just cut one too  :))  :-*

That is a "starwarsish" looking fore grip I designed and machined. 4 inches long and 2.060 dia.

I am regulated at 2000psi. Have not got a shot count with the new spring but I guess it will be 40 or more with a fill of 3000psi

Well it's not a pistol but here it is my a 2540 Carbine . I will be replacing the trigger frame & hammer
with the new modded version from the marauder pistol. There's a temporary trigger frame off
my 1377 attached at the mo. Also a temp rd20 red dot. Shoot's very good. 25 shots from a 12g before a noticeable drop.

Parts List:
14" .25cal barrel 1/2 unf recrowned (floating)
Reduced volume Pro-Top valve
Lighter hammer spring
SS screw set
Disco breech (has both old and new screw holes plus 3 grubs to float barrel - all screws metric)
.25 SS Probe
Tootsie roll grip (Sprayed Olive Krylon matt)
Crosman 1399 stock (Sprayed Olive Krylon matt)
2240 body
Temp trigger frame & hammer
Unknown Custom muzzle brake (works very well)
