Title: 22xx valve question.
Post by: beejwest on January 14, 2018, 08:29:06 PM
Need a new valve stem seal for a factory  22xx (see my wanted add).

That said, does any other material work there?  Tried an orange  C02 cart seal and that created some sort of valve lock.  I think it was too soft.  Hardware store fixes?

22xx valve stem is generally not a repairable item.

That said...if you just want to have a go at fixing it for giggles, might try the urethane like plastic used as an inserted seal in some pop/soda bottles, or the soft-ish plastic used to make lids for some grocery cans...ie coffee.

Don't think either will break the bank, but won't guarantee they will work either. ;)

For other stems, and with access to machine tools...teflon, nylatron or delrin/acetal all work very well.
