Title: What`s in the mail
Post by: brz-ryder † on January 31, 2013, 10:22:48 AM
All the other topics ask what`s in the fex or ups truck some companies and ebay sellers ship usps so here`s a place for that. I have a new brass tube in 7/8 x 3/4 x 12 to make a new CO2 tube for my modded 2240? also a new soft case for a pistol  :-*

Cool, I be watchin ta see what ya do with da tube  ;)

I get most of my stuff by USPS here in the boondocks (deep rural).  It comes across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - Tunnel from Norfolk, VA in a white U.S. Mail truck. After that it gets in a little silver car and rides to my mailbox on the side of the road.

So, I don't place to much distinction between the "What's in" part. If my stuff is on the brown truck I do give them a special mention  ;)

My watch is in the mail. I sent it off in December for a cleaning, battery, crystal and pressure test. It returned in mid January and would not run a full day without stopping. After contacting the customer service I was authorized to return it for warranty work to find the problem and hopefully correct the problem.

Brian,
I meant to ask AirShooter about his box of 100 and if they were phillips, if he might sell a couple of them.  All of my spares are either the Crosman Allen-heads or AC stainless slotted-head screws and I would like to try some stainless steel phillips-head screws in my next breech.
Cheers,

Got that... but go to the McMaster link and see what # phillips screwdriver you will need, it's gotta be exact with these mini screws right?  :-*

What # phillips screwdriver I will need?  I'm pretty sure I have plenty of screwdrivers.  I'm tool poor.  I'm pretty sure I could throw away half of my hand tools and still not need to get any more.
Cheers,

Just out of curiosity (and thinkin' I might be needing some too!), why would you need 100 4-48x0.25 stainless steel screws? Is some Gov't agency proposing regulating them? I need to keep a finger on the pulse of this kind of thing. Flex

I have some of those screws from McMaster-Carr but the slotted ones, box of 50ea. I turned down the head dia. a bit on my Dremel and took some off of the top. I sent some guys some of them back early last summer. You never know man what will come up and I do like to share  :-*

Today I got 20ea of the 8g CO2 cartridges for "Project Alice"  :)

Quotewhy would you need 100 4-48x0.25 stainless steel screws?
Lots of small screws, nuts, rivets, washers, ect. only come by the box or are much cheaper that way.  Larger pieces are fewer to the box but I'm guessing that a box of 100 4-48X.250" was about as cheap as a handful of loose pieces.
I didn't figure he needed that many and if they are what I wanted I would buy a few from him.
Cheers,

I always receive an eMail from Crosman when my package ships and since you are only paying $4 for shipping you can bet that Crosman is sending it thee most inexpensive way.

Packages from Crosman always arrive in 5 - 7 business days.

Well...The screws were $11.69 for 100 pieces. I've never purchased parts from Crosman but I figure they must charge at least $.70 to $1.00 each for the screw. With the $4.47 shipping, I'm paying $.16 for each. I ended up getting the Phillips head ss screws. I couldn't find a listing for the .25" slotted.  They did have them in .50" I didn't want to mess with trying to cut them down to .25" They are #1 drive.

Waiting on...
WGRS sight from Midway
Screws from McMaster
Pellets from PA (won't ship till 2/5 The Meister wadcutters are on backorder).

Jim

Used to have one of those too.  :)

Loved that gun!! It was surprisingly accurate! Used to take it shooting with some friends who had 44 magnums and 357s... and we would be shooting targets set on the hillside at about 30, 40, 50, and 60 yards. Damn if that black powder pistol couldn't keep up just fine with them... blew their minds (and even me at first). Pretty soon it was pretty much all I would shoot with them... was cool to beat them quite a few times with it lol  ;)

Lent it to a friend and never asked for it back before I moved. Miss that gun  ;)  :(  ;D

Crosman order (I believe that they ship USPS) should be any day now! Ordered some BackPacker "furniture" for either my 1322c or my American Classic 1377c (screw-n stock and forearm) as well as a pair of the dark green grips for the 2289g when it's in the pistol mode. Added a hand full of spare parts and other parts for potential upgrades. Right around $40 incl S&H. I like to keep the S&H at or below 10% of the order. Also I try to keep the total order under $60 so as not to show up as a blip on the "Fun Police" RADAR screen ;). Flex
