Title: More 1377 chrony data
Post by: burnt09 on March 06, 2012, 09:09:36 AM
Some more chrony numbers from my stock 1377. I didn't bother recording group sizes. Just too darn small.

PMPS: number of pumps
AVE:   average velocity
ES:     extreme spread
SD:     standard deviation
FPE:    foot-pounds energy

RWS Superdome (8.2gr)

PMPS     AVE     ES     SD     FPE
4           399    12.1   4.4     2.9
5           439    13.4   4.4     3.5
6           463     6.4    2.2     3.9
7           486     5.6    2.1     4.3
8           509     5.7    1.9     4.7
9           520     8.7    3.2     4.9
10         535     7.3    3.1     5.2

Good numbers there.  Was each pump group 10 shots or some other number?

Looks like 8 pumps should be your target shooting standard.  :-*
I came up with very close results when wearing a .177 barrel.

5 shots. I don't want to get too muscle-bound.  ;)

I can appreciate that.  Never did understand some pumping their guns 30 times.  Whew... by then you're too tired to steady the gun.
