looking into buying the extended stainless bolt (prob) is it better   does it take away from putting pellet in (as far as room in the chamber)

Best thing it does is get the pellet past the transfer port where the CO2 enters the chamber.  The CO2 blast has been known to deform the skirts on some pellets causing loss of accuracy and velocity. It should also give you a more consistent seating of the pellet in the leade.

They are worth the small expense you will pay for one.  But please don't expect miracles.

Answer is yes it does.  However, you can experiment with how long you need it to be to get your gun's favorite pellet past the transfer port and if it can be shortened, you can grind it shorter to make a little more room in the loading port.  I use DC's extended probe in both .177 and .22 and I have not found trimming to be needed with any of my guns/pellets.

Yep, hollow probe goes over the transfer port. Has a hole in it to align with the TP when you lock the bolt in place.

Yes there is a difference. Hollow probe is larger diameter. Probe part that touches the pellet is about the same diameter as the pellet. It has a hollow core such that the compressed air or CO2 passes through the bolt and hits the back of the pellet.

Is the hollow probe slightly shorter, than the longer solid probe,as the gas comes up throe it,because my pellets are much more easy to drop in, on my 2250 steel breech Hollow probe, than on my King ratty, longer solid probe.

no one has said which one is better,is there a difference ,looking at the stainless long prob with the magnet  for a 1377

Truthfully, there really is not a 'which one is better' answer.  As most of us have done, the best thing to do is for you to get one each and you decide which one is better for you.

Personally, I like the flow through bolt better but I have both types and use both types.
