13xx /22xx Grip Question? Parts ordering thoughts.

I'd like to order a pair of grips from the Crosman parts dept for my 2289g BackPacker. There are a few different part #s on the EPVs that are on the Crosman website. Off hand, does anyone know the #s for the L & R black grips that are for the 2289g? I took the grips off my 1322c and while they do fit, it seems like there is more of the frame exposed along the back and bottom of the grip. The grips from the 1322c have three different #s marked on them AND none of those #s are the ones listed on the EPVs from the website. I guess my main question is what # should I use when ordering to ensure the right part at the best price?
Another question not related to the grips. I see on the 2289 EPV and some of the pics on various sites, that there is a "spacer" that fills the gap between the barrel and the pump tube. Is it just fluff? Other than appearance, does it serve a purpose? Do I need one?
Since I'd like to maximize (within reason) the $4.00 S&H from the parts dept at Crosman, are there any parts that are prone to wear and tear, subject to failure, or are easily lost (i.e. safety ball and spring) that I should consider having on hand "just in case"? I'm not planning on any serious modding (longer barrels, steel breech, etc) at this time. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Flex

These are the original Backpacker grips that were a dark green color.  I have ordered several set of them.

Prices may have gone up since my last order.

Grip - Right, Green  1389-016   $2.03
Grip - Left,  Green  1389-017   $2.03

Thanks Carl.
I ordered a pair. I was kinda hoping that the dark green stock was available too but alas, the parts computer lists the 1389-022 as "obsolete" and there are currently none in stock. I did however, order a 1399a001 which is a black stock and (I think) has the holes drilled in the side for attachment to the grip frame. That's OK with me as I was prolly going to do that anyway :-*. It's also cheaper than the dark green model. ($10.87). Wasn't sure that I wanted to pick up the "Backpacker" forearm (part #1389-025) but did since it was $8.75 and I was trying to get as much out of the $4 S&H as possible. I ordered a few other parts for some modding ideas that I have. If they work out (or if they don't :(), I post about it. Thanks for the reply. Flex

Thanks Flex!

Was thinking I wanted to order that stock for the 1377 I just got... So I could have it as a carbine for awhile as the kids were learning to shoot.

Keep seeing them for the $27 dollar price on the retail websites... But something told me there had to be another way... From reading threads here about guys getting them cheaper. Your thread pulled it all together for me.

Is the Backpacker forearm green... Or black?

Thanks again!

Original Backpacker forearm was green, Forearm Green 1389-010, but I think that part is dried up and the new color is black.  Don't have the new part number yet but sure someone else does because I know they ordered one.

By the way the barrel spacer you mentioned is indeed fluff.  Most people who have done any modding remove it.  I kept it on one of my older pumpers for a while, but the plastic got scuffed and looked bad, so off it came.  That was the last I've used.

If you get one, buy it from Crosman and not the guy that's selling them for crazy prices on eBay.

Indeed I did! The black rifle style (backpacker) forearm is listed as part #1389-025 and sells for $8.75! That and the stock (part #1399a001 ($10.87) together cost less than $20. That's less that many sellers are asking for the stock alone! $4.00 S & H is just another plus. Flex

I thought as much BUT since they were a mere $1.15, I bought two. Sometimes, "Fluff" is what it's all about 8). Flex
