Hey Everybody!

I am in the midst of trying to get a Crosman 600 and then having it modified with larger, more beefy guts. So, I pose THREE questions to you:

1) Where can I get a 600 in decent shape to be modified (I have been to Gun Brokers many times bun't can't seem to see anything I like), and

2) Where/who should I contact about getting it customized in hopes of making it stronger with more fpes,

3) Lastly, what sort of chrony numbers can be generated with a good modification?

Thanks again, take care and hopefully talk to you soon  :D

Ask Carl he will know what you need for the 600.

For the most part, people don't usually modify things on the 600.  The reason being is that when you start messing with the valve you ultimately end up causing problems with the blockback system that makes the 600 fully automatic.  And if you do you can end up with a very unstable 600 that can go full auto.

If anyone might know something about modifying them I would think it would be Tim at Mac 1 or maybe someone at Bryan and Associates.

Most just keep them stock and enjoy them for what they are.

i know people put longer barrels on them

That is a good point but a longer barrel is only good up to a certain point and then you start running out of 'oomph' to push the pellet down the barrel and in fact, too long a barrel can become a hindrance.  But I don't know where that break point would be.

Great points and thanks for your insight and expertise, Carl  ;)

If we assume I keep it as stock as possible, what sort of numbers can I expect from such a pistol in terms of fpe and such.

Thanks a bunch and take care-

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that they produce numbers in the 350-400 fps range. in stock form. Mac1 does customize 600's they have a section explaining what all they do with them. Most people leave them stock like carl said, and just enjoy them, but i see many people bulk filling them and adding a longer barrel of about 4"- 6". find the Mac1 info at the site below. they do some valve work and some other stuff too. he explains everything in detail on this site.

it doesnt appear to be working at the moment but check back another time. this site seems to be in non working order from time-to-time. the do a lot of customizing

Yeah, I forgot to mention that all four of my 600s shoot in the 360 to 420 fps range.  But then I only get about 25 to 32 shots per powerlet.
