Any light on the best / cheapest thing to use
on co2 cartridges. Eg. Pelligun oil alternative?

I've tried most of the best and have settled on Pellgun oil as it is the cheapest and most readily available.  Not to say the others are not good.  Both the Mac 1 Secret Sauce and AirgunSmith's Airgun Oil are fine products that I have no complaints about.

I've never wanted something so useless in my life.

I have always used 30-wt non-detergent motor oil. Never have had any problems with it and most believe it is all pelgun oil is. You can get a quart for about 2.00.

Why not just use Pellgun Oil? It is cheap enough and designed to be used on airguns! My last tube cost me $2.39. Personally I would not risk using a "cheap" alternative on my precious airguns, but I guess I care about mine.

I bought 30wt ND oil from walmart 4 years ago and probably got 30 more years supply from it for my co2 shooters. It's $3 & some change for a quart and why pay for shipping for the small tube of p-oil. Never had any problem with the ND oil.

Fairly sure in my Mark 1 manual it says to use 30-wt non-detergent motor oil. I'll check later!

I use super fluid acid free sewing machine oil. Pellgun oil is rather expensive in the NL...

So some of you use 30W oil on your Co2 cartridges?
I take it because it's pre charged you won't get a
problem with dieseling. No problem with the seals?

I use lube on a 12g cart maybe every third cart or so. Most quality branded carts have a lube within the cartridge
which goes through the gun with each shot. But I think it helps to add a drop to keep the o-ring that seals that cart
to the valve in good shape too. I don't have any precharged rifles.....  :-*
