Well, today was a day about numbers.  Pellets flying over a chronograph, writing down the results and sending more over it.

I was, well,  :o , if not impressed with some of the results.

Crosman Custom Shop 2400KT .177 Caliber 18" Barrel Carbine

Crosman Competition Wadcutter Pellets, factory spec'd 7.4 grain
Crosman Powerlet with 1 drop of Pellgun Oil
Competition Electronics ProChrono set 36" from Muzzle Brake
Temperture : 74 degrees. AC on.
Only took two shots for full-power blast.
Except for 1st 10 shots, kept my watch by the gun, tried to shoot a shot every 30 seconds.
No alteration to the position of the Mellon Power Adjuster setting from the other day when I got 75 shots.

Test #1

This test was shot using the 10-shot string sequence using a new Crosman Powerlett.

Additional Notes :

Had a jam on the 2nd shot of 4th string, taking time to poke out
Shot an accidental 11th shot on 6th string, reading was 458 fps.
Last shot in 7th string (125 fps) appeared to be unfired in appearance, and had bounced back out of silent pellet trap.
As it stands, most usable is 50 shots, can be stretched into 60, but perhaps a longer hammer spring and  backed-out power adjustment can up shot count and even out fps a little more like the 1740 Target Pistol?
It ain't like it used to be but, eh, it's do.

This was a different type of test, I was running 10 pellets of different Brands/types.

Test #2

1. Crosman SSP - These are the lead-free pellets.  A small sample were given to me to test. I ran 10 through the 2400KT and 5 through the Gamo Shadow 1000 to check velocity comparisons for the person who supplied the pellets.

2. Crosman Destroyer EX.

3. Beeman Laser RN.  Supposed to be the lightest pellet Beeman offered at 6.5 grains, so I dug out my tin and ran 10 of them over the chronograph for curiousity.

641, 642, 636, 630, 632, 630, 626, 629, 623, 622

4. Crosman Ultra Magnum. Naturally, I went from the lightweight to the heavyweight in my collection of .177 - the 10.5gr Crosman.  LOL

512, 519, 513, 516, 518, 514, 515, 517, 516, 514

H - 519
L - 512
A - 515
ES - 7
SD - 2

5. Gamo Match Wadcutter.  I think Gamo rates them at 7.5 grains, so I figured while I was running some pellets, why not try them.  The first 3 blew my mind velocity wise.

594, 594, 594, 588, 595, 592, 593, 591, 591, 590

H - 595
L - 588
A - 592
ES - 7
SD - 2

Based upon the first test, I stopped there gas-wise

Here is the last pellet fired, at 125 fps, other than the rifling, you really wouldn't be able to tell it.
