Put this UTG on my 2240...no additional mount necessary...it does come with one however....it's great red/green dot and very accurate.

Yes, no issues what so ever.  It actually is much better on batteries than I had thought it might be.  I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in purchasing one....it's actually cheaper now on Amazon than when I snagged mine.  Almost $10 cheaper.....

Crosshairs

That looks like the one i have on my nightstalker i like it's very clear and round dot.

That is a nice looking pistol!  The sight looks good on it.

I think you're right Crosshairs, looks the same.  Thanks jdub!

Wow, that red dot has a 1/2 MOA dot, huh?  And is the dot nice and round?  No smeary smudginess to it like Ive seen on other low cost dots?

I have an older Tasco on my 2240. The thing was great for what I originally bought it for - a .45 race gun I used for steel plates.  It has an enormous tube...like 50mm so target acquisition is fast and easy.  But for target shooting??  The dot is way too big.  At 10 yards, it covers the targets completely.  It looks a little goofy on the smaller framed Crosman too.  I may pick one of these up.

My UTG (same as Leapers) has an adjustable brightness like most do.  It allows you to make the dot very small and precise at the lower settings.  It's a quality piece of optics, really made well.  It's not the cheapest but it's worth the extra cash IMHO.  Plus I think it looks great on the 2240.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 1/2 MOA in the product title on Amazon is referring to the click adjustment increments and not the dot size.

Sorry, posted the incorrect link
The actual dot size is listed here as 5 MOA.  http://leapersreddot.blogspot.com/2012/02/buy-discount-truglo-red-dot-30mm-dual.html

A lot of advertisers do this.  You have to be careful.

Dang! Sorry about that.  :-[

Here ya go,  Straight from Leapers.  4 MOA dot.  http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.php?mitem=optic&level1=Dot_Sight&level2=&itemno=SCP-DS3068W&status=&mtrack=6m

I matched the part number with Pyramyd's.  Interesting but Pyramyd doesn't list the actual dot size either.

4moa is still better than 5moa which most economical red dots have

Absolutely!

I didn't mean this as a knock against the sight.  More of a complaint about the deceptive advertising.  You have to really do some digging to find out the actual dot size--that shouldn't be the case.

gotcha!!
there was a link to a truglo rd iirc it said 2.5moa
now i wonder if its really a 2.5moa dot
if it thats great!

I'm sorry about that.  I sure didn't mean to come across as knocking the quality of the sight--I apologize that it sounded that way.  iI was actually thinking that that particular sight looked much better on the gun and was very likely a higher quality than anything I'm using.

The reason I jumped in was because I had recently been searching for a better dot sight online and found a different sight listed as 1/2 MOA and it wasn't until I was about ready to order that I came across a review of the sight that reported that actual dot size as 5 MOA and the 1/2 MOA referred to the adjustment increments.  It ticked me off and I really do think it's deceptive.

Thanks for letting me know my post sounded negative.  I'll be more careful.
