Found this at someone's curb during my morning constitutional

It appears to be made of cedar.

You know, I didn't think of that, but it does look that way now that you mention it.  Makes a good airgun stand, though.   I will add some felt and maybe enlarge the slots where needed.

I had ordered a few 14.5" .22 barrels from Crosman in May,got one or them perrty quick and the other two were on back order! :(  Well they came in on Friday afternoon late and they werew 12.0" barrels!! >:( I call them Monday to get my order fixed!  Well the guy at Crosman toll me that I had ordered 12.0" barrels ,I told him No sir, I have already gotten one of the 3 barrels and it was 14.5" barrel! I gave him the part # (2289-001) and he said that had been changed to a 12.0" barrel!! Well I said I ordered 14.5" and thats what I paid for and thats what I wanted.  I was real nice about it. This guy was a TOTAL A$$ hole.  :o :o :o I have never had anyone at Crosman act like that before I was  :o :o I got an email saying mt barrels were on the way and I had to pay for return shipping on the 12.0" barrels!! I don't think so, I'm not the that screwed up!!!

Cwlongshot

Well UPS tracking has found the barrel and its still in Texas and scheduled to be here Friday. I also see its coming signature required...
Hope the brown bugger comes when he usually does...  :o :o :o :o

Well...to be quite honest Mr. Crossliner, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet! It's part of my current project, but I still have some machining to do to it in order for it to work for my application. I will give you a full report on how it works by...oh, say, Sept 1st at the latest... ;)

I do know a few people who use them and it does have a dramatic effect on accuracy, just needs to be dialed in to the proper distance from muzzle to see the full benefits  :-*

Well, it is not a gun... (got plenty of those)  :o

Today I received the little Northern Tool 6" chop saw with metal cutting blades.  It was about $70 or so.   It makes really quick work of sectioning the brass, aluminum, stainless and Delrin round, hex and square stock into various lengths.  I just used it on a piece of brass and it righteously gave me 4 pieces 2 7/8 from a 12" bar of 3/4.

The clamp is solid, the miter angle is handy, and it even has a clamp insert for round stock.  This is so much better than using the parting tool on the lathe. It would not do in an industrial pipe shop, but it will last me for years.  It even came with an extra pair of quick change motor brushes!

I think I just bought myself a few hours a week every week from now on. Good times  :)
