No need to belong to a club to order the refurbed 853's, only the new rifles.  Just fax or mail in the order and they ship it out right away.  Faster than Crosman or even PA!

Great. Which one do you recommend? The straight stock or the Monte callow?

Mine has a Monte Carlo stock.  Better for 10M shooting in standing position off hand with the more vertical pistol grip.  If your main interest is plinking or you want to scope it the sporter stock should be fine.

Classic Feinwerkbau 300s arrived today courtesy of Jim Edmondson.  All I can say is Wow!  This is a vintage 1972 rifle, stock and metal are in real nice shape for its age, and the trigger is sweet!  Fired 3 quick test shots at 5m after assembling (Jim wrapped the action and stock separately for shipping) and no sight adjustments.  Looking forward to spending some quality time at 10m when it warms up a bit!

Thanks - I sold a QB78 and my custom 2240 to help finance it.  Figured I can always replace those down the line, but these vintage guns are getting harder to come by.  I think someone else on CAPOF had a real nice 300S but can't remember who it was.

Should make for some good fun in the 10M Open Rifle Free Hand competition.

No excuse not to start shooting the comps now.  I'm up to five 10m guns - the FWB, my CMP853, the CO2 Challenger 1760 I built, a 2300KT with LW barrel and a Daisy 747.

My second favourite pistol after the 2240 of course.

Umarex Gold Cup Nickel which is on the way as we speak'

The closest I'll ever get to a 1911 anyway

Now that Umarex is quite spiffy, and fairly close to the looks of my 1911.  :-*
