Hello All,

I am doing a raffle and all proceeds will go to fund the CAPOF's server fees. It ain't free, so this is my part. Since there is enough interest, I will proceed. Each entry will cost you $10. US.
Deadline for entries is Saturday, November 24th at 12 noon Eastern time

I just finished (well almost) a 2300 build from leftovers. The only things new are the sites and grip frame. She hits hard, but I have not shot over the chrony yet, but I will and publish the results.

Main Drawing Prize

"Junk Drawer Dog" 2300 Build
- 10" barrel from a 1377 with a brand new 6.5" Stage 5 TKO LDC
- Mellon Power Adjuster with a 2300 hammer spring (Power Adjuster to be blackened)
- Ferris Customs Wood Grips (still need tung oil, but I wanted to show them)
- Crosman Long Steel Breech with Long bolt probe and Mellon Handle
- LPA Rear Site with Disco Front Site (front site is held with locktite only but I may change that to hold with a screw)
- A VERY SWEET Brand New 1701P 2-stage Trigger Frame (did I say Sweet?).

All tucked in a White Leather Case with a nice soft furry substance on the inside and shipped to your door (sorry, but this has to be a U.S. only on account of shipping).

If this works the donation will be posted in the donation-topic and used for the second invoice I expect May 2013 for hosting fees last six months 2013  :)

Wow! and there I was worried that there would not be enough people to respond.....


We have enough for me to go ahead  :-*  I want to leave it open for a little bit yet because people come in and out. How does it sound if I leave it open until Saturday 11/24/12 at noon. I will lock the thread at that point and make a list of names, drop them in a hat and have a drawing. Mike (Crosshairs) did a video drawing and I thought that was pretty fair and open, so I would like to duplicate how he did it. My lovely daughter is leaving for Washington DC Wednesday and I do not think she will be back until Sunday night, but I would like to have her draw the name, so it might not be until Monday or Tuesday night before I can do it. Truth is, I will need her help for the video anyway. Last time I tried.....well long story, so I save it.


That gives me time to blacken the PA and finish the grips and oh what the heck, I'll repaint the LDC too.


How does that sound to everyone?

I thought about it and figured I had enough parts in the drawer to assemble a stock 2240. I was wrong!! Had to use a 10" barrel and some bed liner grips!! I do believe this is a 10" .22 barrel from the custom shop. Not 100%, but pretty sure. Also, this has the old style metal side plate trigger frame with the brass trigger and all (for you old school collectors out there).

I am interested and would have already taken part but I DO NOT do Paypal!  Is there any other way to take part in this; I haven't seen anything in this thread to suggest that is the case. 

If anything of this sort is done in the future, is it possible that a non-Paypal method could be instituted at the outset?

Woke you right up...didn't it!

Had the glasses on. I was using the Lee Classic hand loader. Basically a die set and a hammer. I quickly set up my turret press right after that happened. Much safer!


Still, I have 10 rounds fully loaded using the hand loader. :-*  Probably the last 10 using it.

[size=78%] [/size]Switched to the turret and banged out another 100 rounds in about an hour and a half.. I hand dropped the powder. +/- .1 grains on every cartridge. Figured I needed some consistency until I learn what I am doing.

Don't standard 2240s look strange, in a nice way. I just bought one and can't leave it alone  ;) it is that long since I had a stocker it is like a new gun.

I am going to try to film this whole thing without my daughter's help (which will probably be a mistake), but I will try! I will film in two sections. 1) showing all of the tickets with names and then folding them. 2) Dropping them in a hat and drawing the winner and follow-up........ If something goes wrong at the end of #1, I will have to wait for her help! Of course, I will show the names again before throwing them in the hat in step #2.

Anyway, I will post in 2 videos as I think this has been one of my problems with uploading video...to darn large file sizes.


My next posts in this thread will be videos (I hope :-).

This little collective chunk of change will help to pay for the server and bandwidth (or whatever it is it takes to keep us online) and it is you guys that have supported the cause so very much more than I ever expected. I have used  Lee Classic hand loaders for years when I want to pop out just a few rounds.I use a cheap arbor press I bought,never did like that hammer idea.Just for fun if you have a 06 load up some hollow points for it ;D.

I have the tickets cut out. I will try to do a test video tonight and the real thing sometime tomorrow as time permits me!

My daughter won't be in until late tonight. She is on her way back from DC now. So, I figured I would just get it done and over with before you guys showed up on my doorstep with tar and feathers!!  ;D ;D


I just looked at the video, it does suck, but I can blame my daughter for that as well, because she took my new camera with her (ok, I gave it to her for the trip)!
