I have seen someplace, dont remember when or where, that Crosman had a unconditional "lifetime" warranty for guns made before  like 1980-something.  So does that mean a 106 would still be covered by the (original) warranty?

eric

just a guess but no.what do you think the 106 you're referring to need that requires the warranty.considering it was made in 1947 ,crosman doesn't have parts for it anymore
TOO many freaks and NOT enough circuses

I would of thought its the 'wording'

Lifetime warranty meaning the lifetime of the gun and not the owner. If a gun wears out, thats its lifetime?
Unless its a fault but I think someone may have noticed that in 1947  ;)

Best way to find out is to call Crosman and explain your position.
Let us know what they say. Good Luck  :-*

I thought that "a life time warranty" only applied to the first owner.. o.0

As a matter of fact I do.  I tried to scan it so I can post it but it's to light and wont show up. Getting hard to read also because it was hand written invoice and not a register.
But it says May 6 47.

Probably a little bit high on the price for back then.

No kidding? You still have the original receipt from 1947? Call Crosman. I'll bet you the original cost of the gun (6.47) that they will honor the warrenty. All it takes is a call and a question. Worst they can say is no. But, somehow I think that when they hear you still have that receipt, they'll fix it for you.

Thats the date, the cost was $3.62
And I have called, they say parts are no longer available. But I bet that if they really looked around the shop they could find a hidden box or two of parts.  They just do not want to.  If they gave me the keys to the warehouse and a few hours I could probably find something.

Is your gun a .177 or .22 caliber?  Reason I ask is because I have two Crosman 106 pistols and did a little research on that model and found out that the Model 105 pneumatic pump, .177 cal., single shot pistol was made from 1947-1953 and the Model 106 pneumatic pump, .22 cal., single shot pistol was made from 1948-1953.

They were both made from 1947 to 1953, which was a time when .22 caliber was far more popular in America, hence the 105 is the more scarce gun. But neither model is particularly rare. You won't believe how inexpensive they still are today!

And Crosman also follows the 7 year rule/law about parts.  That is, after a product is more than 7 years old the manufacturer is no longer required to carry any spares but many companies still do and usually keep parts around till they are all gone.  They just don't produce any more spares.

First off, sorry, I put down the date and not the cost of the gun! 3.62 Holy Cow!!! Even better.

Ya know, no ones asked whats wrong with it??? Have they? So what's wrong? Need new seals? If that's the case you can do it yourself if your handy or there are a few very capable people out there that will fix it for you. But it will cost you about 10 times what you paid. In my book, that's still a bargin for that pistola. Especailly when you think of it's history! That puppy has been in your care for 65 years......GET IT SHOOTING  :-*

Got it covered.  Found this guy > http://accurateairguns.com/Contact/  about an hour up the road ( Interstate-5)and he has original repair parts. But you asked whats wrong with it.  It has sat so long that the seals dried out I am sure. Wont hold air.  So I mailed it to him and a money order for 50 bucks..should have it back soon.  Then I am going to pound a few beers so I have some empty cans to test it on!!!
And I have not had it for 65 years..hell I am only 45...I found it in my grandfathers stuff years ago when he passed, along with a field grade Parker-hale over under, a Winchester 69A, a Singer 1911 and some very old boxes of 12 gauge from Montgomery wards.   I have way too many real guns already, and close to 30K rounds in the house...I just think it would be cool to get this 106 running...Times like this I wish I had a kid to hand things down too.  I am sure my coffin someday will only hold so many guns...and bourbon...and porn.    So I will shoot it for a while and then give it away in a year or so.   Maybe start a essay contest on this site huh?   Winner gets some old Penthouses ...a 106 and a bottle of Jim Beam mailed to them for free.
