I actually did the soldering iron trick because I had a small gap to fill in. I used 2"  sheet rock screws in the butt plate to keep it secure, it's very solid. In the pic you can see some imperfections on the cut, it really isn't as bad as the pic shows. I'll touch it up at a later date.

bdb12586, Neat trick with the soldering idea. 
Similar to how a sculptor uses heated wax in gaps on stone carving and then sprinkles powdered stone to the wax to hide it.

I didn't try but wonder if Cyanoacrylate (super glue) could be used to put the pieces back together.

Yep that is some seriously good stuff.  I use it when I am making pens on my wood lathe.  And it is really excellent for skin.  In fact, some of our agents used that stuff instead of handcuffs if we were pressed for time, and couldn't find our cuffs.  We always carried extra little tubes of STUFF.

I think this stuff was designed for skin originally? I had the pleasure of a beer bottle in my face when younger and the medics used a type of superglue to bond the slice together.

J&J got into the superglue market a while back. I have a tube in the emergency kit. Better than bleeding all over the place

Well I got the chance to run a couple dozen pellets through my 2400 since I shortened the stock. I am so glad I did, I can actually reach and comfortably adjust the parallax while the rifle is shouldered. I also find it more comfortable to shoot in a standing position all in all I would guess this is the best mod I could/did  to it

Well I'm glad to here it worked out for you.  To me, personally, it looked a little bit too short.  But then I have looooong arms.  Which was a detriment when I did bench pressing, could only do 400 pounds, but an advantage doing deadlifts, in that I did 893 pounds.  Of course, all that happened when I was young, at least 25 years ago.

Well I'm glad to here it worked out for you.  To me, personally, it looked a little bit too short.  But then I have looooong arms.  Which was a detriment when I did bench pressing, could only do 400 pounds, but an advantage doing deadlifts, in that I did 893 pounds.  Of course, all that happened when I was young, at least 25 years ago.

yea it does look a little short but it's actually longer than my crosman m1 carbine and my ruger 10/22 and about 1/8" shorter than my winchester 77. I had to move the scope up to change my eye relief and it looks a little more balanced now.

I ordered on 3-22-11, I got shipping info 4-1-11, it is scheduled for delivery 4-5-11. That is quick! 2 weeks from pushing the button to pulling the trigger!!! I am excited. So who's got chrony numbers on a stock gun with the 14.6" .22 barrel? Just want to have an idea of what fps I am gonna be slinging lead at.

Well I got it yesterday!! I have ran 3 carts through it, so about 100 pellets or so. It is a fun little gun. It was only about 65 while I was shooting so I have hopes that it will be shooting a bit harder as it warms up around here. Things I noticed.... The gun is heavier than I expected. It is not heavy, it just has more heft than I thought it would. The length of pull is looong.. I can shoot it fine but it feels a bit akward. I think the length of pull is longer than any of my other airguns. I will probably shorten that a bit. The trigger is okay. It was a little heavy until I took the stock off and adjusted it down all the way. I think once it wears in it will be much better. It is also a bit loud. That I expected. I may need to get me a TKO. Overall I really like the gun. I think it will be lots of fun. I will post pics later, I don't have access to my camera right now. Thanks for all the advice guys!!
