Droid can you point me in the direction to learn about that breech that is? Is there a thread somewhere detailing that build? Thx  :-*

Yes as Mr C says, this is a Grant Stace breech, also available in very limited numbers in brass too, which I would swap a kidney for.

To get this one i had to buy a complete gun from over there in the States. It was always, and still is the ultimate breech for me. I feel very lucky to have it and this one will get buried with me.

To get one you will just have to keep an eye on the classified ads, assuming I don't see it first  ;)

I cut the top of a 2240/50/60 valve off and tapped it out 1/8 npt. Then I installed a macroline adapter on the valve. Running air directly from a 13ci air source to the valve with no pressure in the tube, just inside the valve.

Where does the macroline tubing exit the air tube? Did you drill out the old CO2 cap? Just trying to picture this in my mind. I assume you are running your pressures <850 psi, too.

Just stripped the dream gun this morning, added a custom SS P Rod hammer, kindly made by my mate Ped  :-*
While apart I treated it to a reblue, black rebolt kit (previously SS) and topped off with a new doofer.

Where did you get that barrel band??
James.

He does make many fine part. He also is an avid collector of vintage air arms and pellet tins. He does not have a website. His client list is small and, as I understand, he is not taking on new customers. If you want a taste of the fine work he does, go here...

Tried my hand at some grip making.Nothing new or special here, but a fun project none the less.I don't have tools to do anything in wood,so I made a set with the materials I had. I used to make 1/5 scale carbon fiber composite bodies for RC cars,"such as HPI's Baja 5B"and had some high quality epoxy resin left over. It's extremely tough stuff. The cure time is slow though,it's about 3 days to reach full hardness. Not a problem for me though. The slow cure nature of the resin helps because it is self degassing,so there are no air bubbles in the grip."No pressure pot required".These are a solid thickness version "non hollow"of the standard black grips, but with less stippling, and no funky fake wood grain pattern. They are not painted,I have some black resin tint, which was added to the epoxy.I will also be hydro dipping this pair in a black carbon fiber pattern, and finish them off with a few coats high end urethane automotive clear. They fit absolutely perfect, with no slippage. They look kind of rough in the pictures because they are scuffed up,and being prepped for dipping. In the future I will make an actual set from resin, and layers of carbon fiber..should be pretty cool.

Done a little work on my 2240 today! The valve was moving back to front a very little, so I took an old port seal and put it in the screw that holds the valve in place and now NO more movement. Nice little cheep way to stop the movement!! :)

Nice job Trophy.....good to have the valve secured  :-*
