Guess I didn't screw up the barrel too bad on the 2260 with the cut and crown.  5 shots at 10 yards using the mirror of my pickup for a rest. The one hole off to the right was already there.

Open sites?? Not to shabby at all!  :-*  Any chance of seeing the rifle as it looks now?

A while ago I got a shroud from AC.  Then I got some aluminum tubing to make a little shroud for the rest of the barrel.  Pretty much just cut & slip it on.  Not too much work but it looks good, IMHO.  Did it on a 2240 also, painted black.

Nice Bill.  :-*  I did that on my 1377 but with a piece of stainless tube I got from work.

Nice clean, simple mod, Bill. How thin was the wall of that tubing? I know there is not much room between the barrel and breech.

That is a great idea with the aluminum or stainless tubing over the barrel. And it does look great!!

Just finished this to day! 2240 , I was digging around in my parts bins and got to finding parts I had pulled off of guns that I had moded and built this out of them. No range report yet! If no rain here in a.m. I will set it up and shoot.

Great minds think alike!  :)

We have been doing this with stainless steel, Delrin, aluminum (for powder coating), and polished brass on custom builds.  The latest is the "Godspeed" gun being donated for a new raffle.  It has two stainless sections.  We call them faux shrouds.

^^^^^ :-* Actually Bill's looks way better than mine. Guess that's why my gun is no more. :P
Today my 2300kt is officially a pile of parts. Had a few problems so it's in total rebuild status. I did get some tung oil ob the grips but that's about it. Hoping it will be C.A.P.O.F. worthy when all is said and done.  :-*

Tubing is 6061 T6 Alum.  .50 OD X .444 ID  Wall is .028".  Pretty thin/light stuff.  I got it from Onlinemetals.

Dave & Barry,  I also believe "great minds think alike".  However, in this case I believe we are all stricken by the same disease and therefore displaying the same symptoms.

Hope they don't find a cure. :D
