Now this is bone stock. FedEx just showed up. O-BOY! It was made 3-13. Now that is fresh. This is that special sale from AGD a few days ago. I'll give a run down on how is does later in the orbit.
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

NICE!

Question.. the build date. Is that the first few numbers of the SN? Because mine is 313 BOXXXX. I received mine form PA Thursday. ;)

On the left side of the gun, opposite the stampings you will see a code like shown in my picture.  This one was made in the first month of 2013 so you should see the 113 and then some other numbers which the actual serial number.

"If your Crosman airgun was manufactured after July of 1975, the first three or four digits of the serial number indicate the month and year the gun was built. For example if the first three or four digits of the serial number were 1179 or N79 then your gun was manufactured in November of 1979." :)

From my own limited experience I would think that if it was October 2010 it would have a brass trigger and it looks like yours is the new black steel.

Would you post a picture of your date and serial number, please?

It could be that I switched tubes with the Stubby you gave me. That tube has the 1st 3-digits of "113" so that would make more sense yes? Since I just bought it and stole something off it and then reassembled it again. Mixing and matching  ;D  My other tube has "911" on it (the one I built for my Dad).

OK, here is my report on my new 2240. It's just my luck to get a DUD!!! I'm so hissed off at Crosman I could just spit!!!  >:( The sights on this thing are DUCK POOP!!  I put it on the bench to sight it in, look at my target, the lower part I was shooting at the center circle. I have moved the rear sight blade up a little so my elevation is good now, but I can not move the rear sight over to the left any more. It is still shooting 5/8" off to the right. I noticed that the front sight is leaning to the left. This is it!! No more buying Crosman junk! >:( >:( :(
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

>:( Send it back Duck! Have Crosman make it right. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it is your best bet with a brand new one. Especially if you are going to keep it stock. I've been there, but ended up changing everything, so it did not matter. Last stock one I got is a real good shooter. Guess I got lucky.

Im sure you know this, but the front sight can be taken on/ off, rotated, put on straight, or replaced, even with the 760 fiber optic.
